The Digital Academy provides attendees with a more in-depth series of workshops on the selected digital topics of DMR and Hotspots for 2022. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops, radios and other peripherals to follow along and to learn how to operate, program, etc. The goal of the Digital Academy is to prepare attendees to be able to learn and operate and come away with what is needed to get operating on the selected topic.

Abstracts

Building a DMR Code Plug From Scratch
During this session attendees will learn the art of building a DMR Codeplug from scratch. Learn what it takes to build a code plug by providing the necessary steps in successfully building code plugs for most common DMR radios available today. This session will use the Anytone DMR series codeplugs for demonstration on building code plugs. 

Connecting a Hotspot to BrandMeister
This session will demonstrate the basics of connecting a hotspot to the most popular DMR network, BrandMeister. Attendees will learn the necessary steps needed to configure a hotspot, obtaining their DMR IDs and learning the basics of properly connecting a hotspot. 

BrandMeister Overview and Updates
This session will provide a general overview BrandMeister and how it is used in connecting many of the DMR Repeaters and Hotspots around the world. The second part of the session will provide an update of many changes and features released this past year for those who have been using BrandMeister as their main server when connecting DMR repeaters and hotspots.

Tips and Tricks for Anytone Series Radios and CPS (578/878)
This session will provide attendees an overview of some general tips and tricks in operating and configuring the Anytone Series of radios. From common key configurations to basic tips of using the advanced features of the CPS (Customer Programming Software) this session will be packed full of available features some might have known to have existed. 


Anthony Marcin, W7XM - Presenter/Coordinator, Sunday Digital Academy
Anthony Marcin, W7XM is administrator of the BrandMeister Server 3103 located in San Jose and is also part of the BrandMeister USA Support Team. He also administers the SNARS CBridge Server which connects the regional DMR Network serving the Reno/Tahoe area. Anthony has been licensed for over 25 years and presently serves on the Sierra Nevada Amateur Radio Board of Directors. He has coordinated and presented at the Digital Academy at Pacificon numerous times and is notable for the Code Plug 101 Session which he has given each year.  You will see Anthony lurking around the convention either at the SNARS table or at the Powerwerx booth providing support to users of the popular Anytone DMR Radios and answering questions related to DMR along with the other digital modes.
