QRP Events at Pacificon:
A Full Slate of Planned Activities

There will be a full slate of QRP activities at Pacificon 2008

The NorCal QRP Club is once again pleased to sponsor the QRP events at Pacificon. Every year over 200 Qrpers attend Pacificon and take part in many formal and informal events. This year, the club again has a full slate of activities planned.

The first event will be the no host dinner held at a local restaurant on Friday night. This year we will again be joined by the HF Pack group. To participate in the dinner meet in the hotel lobby at 6:00 pm .

After the dinner on Friday, we will return to the hotel for a show and tell contest with lots of prizes and categories. QRP music will follow at about 10:00.

Saturday is our big day. We will have free coffee in the morning, so be sure to get there a little bit early to enjoy your wake up cup of coffee courtesy of NorCal. Starting at 9:00 am we have four outstanding speakers, Jim Duffey, Doug Quagliana, Dan Tayloe and Dave Farden. Duffey and Tayloe are returning speakers and are very well known in the QRP community. Jim will speak on operating in the field. Dan will be our "technical guy" this year and will be speaking on a timely technical subject. Dave Farden is new to the QRP speaker circuit, and will be talking about his specialty, antennas. Doug Quagliana is a well known speaker on the east coast and is an expert on QRP satellite operation and equipment. Saturday night dinner will be on your own. Then the group will meet around 7:30 pm in Salons F,G and H for Vendor night and the QRP flea market. If you have something to sell, bring it along Saturday night and we will give you table space for free!! You sell your own stuff this year. Plus there will be commercial vendors present also.

Sunday will be spent visiting the exhibits and visiting with friends. Hope to see you there.

Everyone with an interest in QRP is invited to attend, as all are welcome. There is no additional charge for the QRP activities but you will need to have a Pacificon General Admission ticket to participate in activities at the hotel. See Buy Tickets Page.

** Remember, the daytime forums on Saturday will take place in Salon 1. The evening activities on Friday and Saturday will take place in Salon F, G & H.
