There are no excuses for not becoming a ham at PACIFICON. Once again, Rich Harrington, NN6FW, will be giving the "One-Day" Amerateur Radio License Class at Pacificon. Get your Technician License IN ONE DAY !!!!  The class will be taught Saturday, October 20, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A special license test for those who take the class will be given at 5:00 PM. The class is limited in enrollment to 40 students, so sign up early. You must purchase a Pacificon General Admission ticket to attend this class. There is no additional charge for the class. No Morse Code is required to become a ham!

Be sure to buy and read the book "The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual: All You Need to Become a Ham Radio Operator ". Study it prior to PACIFICON !!!. You can order the book at Ham Radio Outlet in Oakland for about $25.00 plus shipping. Call HRO at 1-800-854-6046. It is also available at Amazon.com or through the ARRL website (http://www.arrl.org/catalog/?item=9639#top).

Rich suggests that the chapter you read first should be the one which covers Ohm's Law and basic electrical principles (look up "Ohm's Law" in the index in the back).

Sign up for the one day class below so we can hold a spot for you. The class will be held on Saturday (all day). Enrollment is limited to 40 students.

If you plan on taking the technician test at 5:00 pm, remember the following:

• The license exam fee is $14

• You will need one photo ID, and will need to write down your social security number on the application (including minors)

• Retakes are available on Sunday
