Pacificon 2007 is very pleased to present antenna expert Dean Straw, N6BV, Senior Assistant Technical Director of the American Radio Relay League, as the keynote speaker at the Saturday Opening Breakfast Buffet. The charge for this Opening Breakfast Buffet and Keynote event is $14. It begins on Saturday at 6:45 am. If you want to attend, buy tickets now to reserve! Space is limited. You must also purchase a Pacificon Admission ticket to attend.

Dean Straw's topic is "DXing From a City Lot ". If you thought that you need lots of land and big antennas to experience the thrills of chasing DX then think again.  Dean will give you some insight into DXing from the confines of a city lot.  Whether you live in an urban area or are restricted by covenants and other regulations, this presentation will provide tips on antennas and propagation to help you put more DX in your log. Come to the Pacificon 2007 Saturday opening breakfast buffet and hear this entertaining and informative presentation from Dean.

Dean has been licensed for 47 years, starting with call sign WH6DKD in 1959 and has held six calls. He trained as an electronics engineer at Yale University and his first job out of college was at National Radio Company where he designed SSB and VHF radios. He was in marine electronics industry for twenty-five 24 years, eventually ending up in technical marketing. He has been at ARRL HQ for 13 years, specializing in antenna transmission lines and propagation. He is the editor of the definitive book on antennas, "The ARRL Antenna Book", and the author of other books and articles dealing with antennas. He is still having an absolute ball! Few folks are so blessed that they can combine their work and hobby together.

We regret that the originally named speaker, Chris Imlay, could not attend due to an urgent matter in Washington. We are, however, very pleased that Dean Straw has accepted our request to appear as the Pacificon 2007 Keynote Speaker.

Buy tickets now for the Opening Breakfast Buffet. Space is limited. You must also purchase a Pacificon General Admission ticket to attend.
